German police launched a security operation at an electrical substation in Ganderkesee near Bremen on Friday after officers found a control cabinet open during an overnight patrol, prompting searches with a helicopter and service dogs. Authorities said there were no initial signs of damage and no danger to the public, while investigators work to determine whether the cabinet was deliberately tampered with and whether a criminal offence occurred. The incident comes amid a series of suspected attacks on German electricity infrastructure and follows a security breach at Leipzig/Halle Airport last month involving a drone found near a Ukrainian cargo aircraft. German authorities blamed Russia for that incident, an accusation Moscow rejected, and police said there was currently no established link between the cases. #germany #germanynews #sabotage #powergrid #powerstation #criticalinfrastructure #germanpolice #securityalert #ganderkesee #bremen #leipzig #drone #russia #germanyrussia #europe
