Pentagon shake-up intensifies as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth faces fresh scrutiny over senior military promotions and reports that the White House has reviewed potential replacements for Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg. Reuters reports that the White House has considered candidates who could potentially replace Feinberg, although no decision has been made and the Pentagon insists he has Hegseth’s full support. At the same time, reports say Hegseth has blocked the promotions of at least six Army officers who were expected to become two-star generals. This follows earlier interventions involving other senior officers. A New York Times analysis reportedly found that Hegseth has now fired or blocked the promotions of more than 80 generals and admirals—roughly 10% of the US military’s top officers. #pentagon #petehegseth #stevefeinberg #usmilitary #usdefense #donaldtrump #pentagonshakeup #militarynews #breakingnews #usnews #generals #militaryleadership #defensenews #trumpnews
