The Netherlands has moved about 86 tonnes of gold from North America to London, shifting roughly a quarter of the reserves previously stored in New York and Ottawa. De Nederlandsche Bank says the move is aimed at strengthening crisis preparedness and making its reserves easier to deploy. The Netherlands is not selling its gold; it is changing where the metal is held. Around 59 tonnes were repositioned through paper transactions, while more than 27 tonnes were physically transferred.
