Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday took part in the opening of several major infrastructure projects in Moscow, including the rebuilt Torpedo Stadium, an expansion of the Dream Island leisure complex and new public transport facilities. The Torpedo Stadium, restored at a reported cost of 19 billion roubles in private investment, is designed to host up to 20,000 cultural and mass events and accommodate as many as 1 million visits annually. Officials also opened the Serp i Molot station on Moscow’s MCD-4 rail line and launched the first section of the Rublyov-Arkhangelsk metro line, part of a broader expansion of the capital’s transport network.
