Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed it launched ballistic missiles at a U.S. aircraft carrier and an American destroyer operating near the Strait of Hormuz, alleging the warships were enforcing what Tehran called an "illegal naval blockade" against the Islamic Republic. According to the IRGC, the attack forced both vessels to withdraw after sustaining damage. The Revolutionary Guards also claimed U.S. Central Command acknowledged that the warships had come under multiple Iranian strikes, calling it proof of Iran's military capabilities. The IRGC further warned that any future U.S. military action would trigger even more devastating retaliation. The claims come amid soaring tensions in the Gulf, where the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most strategically important maritime chokepoints. U.S. authorities have not confirmed the broader Iranian account. #iran #irgc #usa #usnavy #aircraftcarrier #straitofhormuz #ballisticmissile #middleeast #persiangulf
