Residents of Turkana East and Turkana South are demanding immediate government action following a deadly resurgence of banditry in the region. In the past two weeks, three people have been killed after bandits raided three villages and stole hundreds of livestock. Local leaders have strongly condemned the attacks and are calling on Gulf Energy to suspend its operations until the government addresses the security situation.
