Hundreds of masked “Stop The Boats” demonstrators brought roads around the Port of Dover to a standstill after blocking access to Britain's busiest ferry port. The black-clad protesters caused miles of congestion and major disruption for motorists and holidaymakers before access to the port was restored. The demonstration has prompted a fierce debate over the use of balaclavas, immigration protests and the police response. Nigel Farage, the government and Dover MP Mike Tapp were among those to condemn the action. Peter Cardwell speaks with callers Derek in Manchester and Lorraine in Chelmsford about the protest.
