The war in Iran has continued for more than six months, with Tehran increasingly showcasing its military capabilities. Over the weekend, the IRGC launched a salvo of Qasem Basir anti-ship ballistic missiles, putting one of Iran’s most advanced weapons in the spotlight. Iran claims the missiles can independently lock onto targets during their final flight phase and conduct precision strikes without additional guidance. Tehran has claimed direct hits on American warships, while Washington has denied the claims and said its vessels remain safe. Beyond the battlefield, the launch carries a powerful symbolic message. The Qasem Basir is named after Qasem Soleimani, the former IRGC Quds Force commander killed in a US drone strike.
