Yemen's government-aligned forces have launched counterattacks against the Houthis. Fighting has intensified in an effort to recapture territory. The latest offensive is focusing on Houthi positions in the governates of al-Jawf and al-Bayda. The Houthis say a prison in Sanaa was also targeted, killing seven people. An army spokesperson says government forces have seized new positions and inflicted human and material losses on both fronts. The fighting comes as the Houthis try to advance through western Taiz and southern Hodeidah towards the Bab al-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea. Al Jazeera’s Yousef Mawry reports from the Yemeni capital, Sanaa on the ongoing battle for territory.
