German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Monday that his Christian Democratic Union (CDU) was "deeply shocked" by its worst election defeat in decades after the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) scored a record win in Saxony-Anhalt's state election. Merz vowed to continue economic reforms. The AfD won 43.8% of the vote and 39 of the state parliament's 83 seats, falling short of the absolute majority needed to govern alone. The result marked the first landslide victory by a far-right party in a German state election since the Federal Republic of Germany was founded in 1949. #Merz #AfD #CDU #Germany #SaxonyAnhalt 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg 👈 Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv For
