Mladic died late August while serving a life sentence in the Hague for crimes against humanity and genocide. He oversaw the massacre of over 8000 Bosniak men and boys in Srebrenica during the break up of former Yugoslavia. Serbia initially said Mladic would receive a full state funeral. That decision was partly reversed after international condemnation. #dwcurrentaffairs #serbia #genocide Chapters: 00:00 Ratko Mladic funeral draws thousands in Belgrade 00:15 Mladic's convictions and the Srebrenica genocide 00:24 Serbia scales back plans for a state funeral 00:36 Interview: Tessa Walther, DW Correspondent 00:46 Tessa Walter reports from Mladic's burial site 01:10 Thousands attend memorial events and church viewing 01:27 Who attended the funeral and where mourners came from 02:01 Were Mladic's war crimes acknowledged at the funeral? 02:18 Mourners describe Mladic as a war hero 02:44 Denial and justification of wartime crimes among attendees 03:07 Possible impact on EU-Serbia relations
