A major showdown is brewing in New York as Mayor Zohran Mamdani prepares to attend the 25th anniversary 9/11 remembrance ceremony despite calls for him to stay away. Mamdani has declared September 11 an annual citywide day of remembrance and service, while also ordering updates to New York’s emergency preparedness framework. But his decision to attend the main ceremony has triggered a fierce backlash from some 9/11 families, with an online petition urging him to skip the event. Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani has also condemned Mamdani’s planned appearance, setting the stage for a tense encounter at one of America’s most solemn commemorations. --- Mamdani | NYC | 9/11 | Memorial | US | Firstpost  #mamdani #nyc #9/11 #memorial #usa #firstpost  Firstpost is an Indian news and media website.
