Iran launched a ballistic missile strike on a U.S. military base near Al Azraq in Jordan after the United States destroyed five Iranian oil tankers. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the attack targeted a base used by U.S. forces, where advanced fighter aircraft including F-35s, F-16s and F-15s are stationed or serviced. Jordan said its air defences intercepted 18 of 20 Iranian missiles, while U.S. officials said American troops were accounted for and the strikes were ineffective.
