The funeral of King Harald V of Norway, who died on August 28 at the age of 89, takes place today. His funeral will take place at Oslo Cathedral, with mourners including his widow, Queen Sonja. Harald, who was Europe’s oldest monarch, died at the National Hospital in Oslo where he had been receiving treatment for a blood condition. The popular king modernised the royal house but refused to follow in the footsteps of other aging monarchs who have abdicated in recent times. Prince William will be attending on behalf of King Charles III, and Princess Anne will also be at the service. His son has since become King Haakon VIII. -------------------------------------- For more of the biggest news stories in the UK and around the world, visit the ITV News YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Subscribe to ITV News In Full on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@ITVNewsInFull • Get breaking news and more stories at: http://www.itv.com/news • Follow ITV News on TikTok: https://www.
