UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has defended Britain’s decision to impose sanctions on goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, declaring that “Britain has to stand for something.” Speaking in Parliament, Burnham said leadership meant taking action against injustice and supporting people facing intimidation and displacement. His comments came after Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced the settlement-goods sanctions and accused Israeli settlers of “ethnic cleansing.” Israel condemned the move and announced retaliatory measures, including plans to close the British consulate in East Jerusalem. The escalating row has deepened tensions between Britain and Israel as pressure grows over the West Bank and Gaza. #AndyBurnham #UK #Britain #Israel #Netanyahu #WestBank #IsraelSanctions #UKIsrael #EdMiliband #IsraeliSettlements #Palestine #Gaza #UKPolitics #MiddleEast #BreakingNews Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
