Spain’s football federation has announced a new fertility support agreement aimed at helping female players and referees balance elite sport with future plans for motherhood. The Royal Spanish Football Federation has partnered with Tambre clinic to provide access to fertility treatments, including IVF and egg freezing, under a programme described as pioneering for women’s sport in Spain. Spain internationals Patri Guijarro and Olga Carmona attended the announcement and praised the agreement for giving female athletes more information, support and choices about their futures. RFEF director of women’s football Reyes Bellver Alonso said the initiative could help football lead the way for other sports, while federation president Rafael Louzan highlighted the importance of work-life balance. The agreement is set to run until 2029, with the RFEF saying it is intended to complement existing maternity and work-life balance protections. Watch the full announcement and reaction from Spain p
