Four French Rafale fighter jets landed at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska on Tuesday after flying over Greenland for the first time as part of France’s Pégase 26 deployment. The nearly 11-hour flight from southern France included five air-to-air refuelings and was designed to test an alternative route to the Indo-Pacific while allowing French crews to train in Arctic conditions. The deployment includes Rafale fighters, A330 MRTT tanker aircraft and A400M transport planes, with French personnel scheduled to conduct training alongside U.S. Air Force aircraft, including F-16 and F-35 fighters. French officials said the Arctic environment, with long distances and changing weather, provides valuable training for future operations, while cooperation with Denmark in Greenland and the United States in Alaska is intended to strengthen interoperability among allied forces. Pégase 26 will later move through tropical and desert environments before concluding on Oct. 15. #rafale #france #frencha
