Iran has reportedly fired electro-optical missiles at US warships for the first time, marking a fresh escalation in the Iran-US conflict around the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran said it targeted 10 American vessels after the United States destroyed five Iranian oil tankers, while US Central Command said the attempted attacks failed. Iran’s newly installed national security chief Mohsen Rezaei described the reported deployment of a “special anti-destroyer” missile as part of a shift toward “active deterrence.” The technology uses cameras and light sensors for precision targeting, with the exact missile used against the US ships remaining unclear. The escalation has heightened concerns over shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil route, while crude prices have risen above $100 a barrel. #iran, #iranuswar #iranwar #uswarships #usnavy #iranmissiles #electroopticalmissile #straitofhormuz #hormuz #middleeast #middleeastcrisis #irannews #usnews #breakingnews #geopolitics #oilpr
