German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called for Ukraine to involve German defense companies more heavily in weapons procurement, saying Germany’s substantial financial and military support should also benefit its domestic arms industry. Wadephul said he raised the issue with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to Kyiv, while noting that Berlin was not entirely satisfied with the level of orders placed with German companies.
