Donald Trump has reignited debate with a series of controversial geographic renaming proposals during the Republican midterm convention in Dallas. Trump promoted the name "Lake America" for Lake Ontario, suggested changing New Mexico to "New America," and joked that the Strait of Hormuz should be renamed the "Trump Strait." He also claimed the United States controls the strategic waterway and repeated his remarks about record investment in America and the success of his presidency. The comments have sparked widespread reactions across social media and international political circles, raising questions about symbolism, diplomacy, and Trump's 2026 political agenda. #donaldtrump #trump #trumpnews #uspolitics #breakingnews #worldnews #politics #america #lakeamerica #newamerica #trumpstrait #straitofhormuz #iran #republicans #gop #whitehouse #geopolitics #middleeast #newsupdate #viralnews Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
