Lavrov Warns Israel Against Violating Iran Ceasefire; Putin To Step In If War Breaks Out Again? MOSCOW — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed support for the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Iran, while warning that it remains too early to draw final conclusions regarding its long-term durability. Speaking amid reports of continued strikes and escalating tensions in the region, Lavrov emphasized the necessity of returning the conflict to a diplomatic track. The warning comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin signaled unwavering support for Iran during meetings with President Masoud Pezeshkian, pledging continued assistance during this period of high geopolitical friction. Concurrently, reports of deepening defense ties, including the return of Rosatom nuclear engineers to Iran's Bushehr power plant and joint work on the C430L supersonic cruise missile program, have heightened concerns over a broader regional escalation.
