Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel of military aggression against Iran and warned that geopolitical pressure and sanctions are exposing vulnerabilities in the global economic system. Speaking at a BRICS business gathering, Pezeshkian said economic security could not be separated from national and regional security and called on BRICS members to strengthen trade, investment and financial resilience. He urged greater use of national currencies, integration of trade infrastructure and stronger financing through the New Development Bank. Pezeshkian also proposed establishing a BRICS joint reinsurance company with initial capital of $10 billion to cover risks associated with major infrastructure and energy projects.
