Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the global economy is undergoing a profound structural shift, with emerging economies becoming new engines of growth. Speaking ahead of the BRICS summit in India, Putin said BRICS countries accounted for more than half of global economic growth over the past five years, compared with 18% for the G7, while the G7’s share of global GDP stood at 29%. Putin also criticised Western sanctions and what he described as increasingly aggressive forms of economic competition, saying Russia had strengthened its economic resilience and expanded ties with partners. He said BRICS should pursue cooperation based on national interests and equal partnership, and proposed creating a new investment platform through the New Development Bank to attract private-sector funding. #putin, #vladimirputin, #brics, #bricssummit, #brics2026, #bricsbusinessforum, #bricsbusiness, #g7, #russia, #russiaeconomy, #globaleconomy, #globalsouth, #economicgrowth, #sanctio
