BRICS leaders are gathering in New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit as India, Russia and China push for greater cooperation amid rising global tensions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, with discussions expected to focus on trade, energy, global governance, financial cooperation and the role of the Global South. The expanded BRICS bloc represents nearly half of the world’s population and is seeking a greater voice in the international system, including efforts to reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar. The summit comes amid strained U.S.-China relations, Western sanctions on Russia and President Donald Trump’s trade policies. However, describing the summit as having “destroyed U.S. hegemony” would be an interpretation rather than an established fact; India also continues to maintain strong ties with the United States. #bricssummit2026live #trumplatestnews #modiputinsummit #bricsmeeting #usnewslive #toilive Times Of
