Narendra Modi welcomed Vladimir Putin with a familiar embrace as the Russian president arrived in New Delhi ahead of the BRICS summit—their second face-to-face meeting in less than two weeks. Behind the viral reunion lies a substantial strategic agenda. India and Russia are expected to discuss energy, defence cooperation, Su-57 fighters, nuclear power, national-currency payments and their target of raising bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030. Putin’s appearance also carries a wider geopolitical message. It is his first in-person BRICS summit outside Russia since the Ukraine conflict escalated in 2022, challenging Western efforts to isolate Moscow. The hug is the image—but India’s insistence on choosing its own partners is the message. #Modi #Putin #ModiPutin #IndiaRussia #BRICS #BRICSSummit #VladimirPutin #NarendraModi Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
