Assisted Dying returns to Parliament on Friday for a second time, giving MPs another chance to vote for or against the legislation. The legislation, introduced by Kim Leadbeater in October 2024, proposes allowing adults in England and Wales, with fewer than six months to live, to apply for an assisted death subject to the approval of two doctors and an expert panel. The bill passed two previous votes in the Commons, but ended in the Lords after running out of time.
