The wait to ride the O-Train further east is almost over, but OC Transpo says it cannot commit to a firm opening target date. CTV's Leah Larocque reports that pre-trial running for the eastern extension is set to begin in early October; as students head back to school and more federal public service workers return to the office, CTV News Ottawa put the city’s transit system and roadways to the test during the morning rush hour commute. CTV's Tyler Fleming took OC Transpo while Katie Griffin drove, racing from Millennium Station in Orléans to Parliament Station downtown; and residents in Deep River are on edge after a stabbing on Wednesday prompted a shelter-in-place order that lasted until Thursday afternoon. CTV's Katelyn Wilson reports that one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following the incident near McElligott Drive.
