U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth marked the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks at the Pentagon on Friday by honouring the 184 people killed at the building and praising U.S. service members and first responders who responded to the attacks. Hegseth said America remained under threat from enemies abroad and at home and called for “eternal vigilance” to protect the country. Turning to Iran, he said the United States had spent the past six months striking the Islamic Republic, claiming that its leadership and military capabilities had been severely damaged. Hegseth also said Washington was tightening economic pressure on Tehran, controlled the Strait and would ensure Iran never obtained a nuclear weapon. He vowed that the United States would “finish this fight” while invoking the memory of the 9/11 victims and Flight 93 passengers who fought back against their hijackers. #hegseth, #petehegseth, #trump, #iran, #iranwar, #irannuclear, #nuclearweapon, #usmilitary, #pentagon, #911,
