NATO marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on Friday, remembering the nearly 3,000 people killed and the first and only invocation of the alliance’s Article 5 collective-defence clause. NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska said the attacks wounded both the United States and the wider world, while stressing that North America and Europe remained united in defending their people, freedoms and democracies. U.S. officials at NATO also honoured victims and first responders and renewed their commitment to the alliance. A moment of silence was held at the precise time the first hijacked aircraft struck the World Trade Center’s North Tower in New York. #911 #911anniversary #911at25 #september11 #neverforget #nato #natoalliance #article5 #natoarticle5 #natoallies #unitedstates #terrorism #globalsecurity #worldtradecenter #pentagon #911memorial #nato2026 #internationalsecurity #geopolitics #worldnews #breakingnews In this Times Now World News report,
