Africa is building a wall across the entire continent. But it's not made of concrete or steel. It's made of trees. The Great Green Wall is an 8,000-kilometer living barrier designed to stop the Sahara Desert from swallowing farmland, villages, and entire communities. It's one of the most ambitious environmental projects ever attempted. But after nearly 20 years, it's far behind schedule. Only a fraction of the promised funding has arrived. And scientists are asking: will this become a success story or a warning about big promises that were never kept?
