Reform UK has received a record £36 million donation from cryptocurrency billionaire Ben Delo, handing Nigel Farage’s party a huge financial boost ahead of the next general election. The donation is the largest of its kind in British political history and comes as debate intensifies over the role of mega-donors in UK politics. Delo says he wants Reform to have a fair fight against Labour and the Conservatives, while critics are demanding greater scrutiny of large political donations. Peter Cardwell and Conservative councillor Matthew Goodwin-Freeman also discuss the row over face coverings following anti-migration protests in Portsmouth, proposals to ban the burqa and niqab, and reports that asylum hotels will be exempt from England’s proposed overnight visitor levy.
