Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly called Donald Trump at least twice as Houthi forces advanced along Yemen’s Red Sea coast and pressure intensified against Saudi oil infrastructure. According to sources familiar with the discussions, MBS asked Washington to launch direct military strikes against the Houthis. Trump refused, offering intelligence sharing, surveillance and assistance identifying targets while insisting that Saudi Arabia and its regional partners lead any combat operation. The reported appeal came as the Houthis captured strategic territory and were reported to have seized Perim Island in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Combined with disruption around the Strait of Hormuz, the advance threatens to place Saudi Arabia’s energy exports between two increasingly insecure maritime corridors. #Trump #MBS #SaudiArabia #Houthis #Yemen #BabAlMandab #StraitOfHormuz #MiddleEast Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
