Russia said on Friday that its forces had created a second encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the northern Kharkiv region, blocking two Ukrainian battalions near Olkhovatka while a larger grouping remained isolated around Volchansk. Russia’s Defence Ministry said Ukrainian attempts to break through had failed and reported losses among the encircled forces, claims that could not be independently verified. Russian military experts cited by Izvestia said clearing the pockets could strengthen Moscow’s positions near the Belgorod border and potentially free troops for further operations towards Velykyi Burluk and areas east of the Siverskyi Donets River. #russia, #ukraine, #russiaukrainewar, #ukrainewar, #kharkiv, #kharkivwar, #volchansk, #belgorod, #putin, #zelenskyy, #russianarmy, #ukrainianarmy, #war, #military, #geopolitics, #breakingnews, #worldnews, #europe, #easternukraine, #ukrainecrisis In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Stay connected with
