Rosatom Chief Executive Alexei Likhachev stated on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi that nuclear cooperation among BRICS countries continues to strengthen despite the burden of sanctions, disrupted logistics, payment system difficulties and broken supply chains, describing BRICS as the only geopolitical grouping that has managed to build cooperation stronger as a result of these challenges rather than weakened by them. Likhachev highlighted Russia's work on India's Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu, noting that the first two Russian-built reactors have generated more than 132 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and represent the two largest units among India's seven nuclear power plants, while confirming that Unit 3 is approaching its physical launch, with equipment delivery more than 99 percent complete and startup operations expected in February or March.
