Indonesia has launched a major search operation after losing contact with the Virgo Transport 8 ferry, which was carrying 243 people in the Java Sea. The vessel was traveling from Surabaya to Banjarmasin when it reportedly encountered severe weather and later suffered communication failure. Authorities said its last known position was about 150 kilometers south of Banjarmasin around 2 a.m. Sunday. A six-person rescue team was dispatched to the area. Later local reports suggested the ferry may have capsized, with nearby vessels reportedly helping evacuate survivors. At least one death was reported as rescue operations continued, highlighting Indonesia’s ongoing maritime safety concerns. #Indonesia #Ferry #JavaSea #Banjarmasin #Surabaya #SearchAndRescue #MaritimeSafety #FerryAccident #RescueOperation #MissingFerry #VirgoTransport8 #IndonesiaNews #BreakingNews #AsiaNews #WorldNews #oneindianews #oneindiaenglish #breakingnews #worldnews #englishnewslive #englishnews #latestnews #news
