Welles Crowther, a former Boston College lacrosse player and volunteer firefighter, was working at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Shortly after his work day began, two hijacked airplanes flew into the twin towers. As the unimaginable attack unfolded, Crowther was the bravest among us, running to the fire and not from it, in the name of saving lives. Twenty five years later, his life and legacy endure, as the tragedy of 9/11 has paved the way for one of the most powerful traditions and remembrances in sports, Boston College football’s Red Bandanna Game. ✔️ Subscribe to ESPN Unlimited: https://plus.espn.com/cfb #ESPN
