Entering the professional world often comes with frameworks, strategies, and a picture-perfect plan, but things can look very different when theory meets reality. Navigating a traditional industry means learning to adapt, question assumptions, and understand the people and systems already in place. This talk explores the experience of stepping into the next generation, from identifying opportunities in overlooked markets to navigating change, learning from decades of experience, and understanding when established ways of working need to evolve. But growth isn't always about building something new. Sometimes, the biggest opportunities lie within what already exists, if you are willing to look closely enough to find them. A lot goes into navigating an established industry beyond what any textbook can teach. And once the frameworks meet reality, success becomes less about having all the right answers and more about knowing when to adapt, when to listen, and when to let the framework go
