BRICS Summit in New Delhi revealed more than just agreements — it exposed the delicate diplomacy holding the expanded 11-member grouping together. With BRICS representing roughly half of the world’s population and around 40% of global GDP in purchasing-power terms, the summit highlighted its growing influence across the Global South. From the New Delhi Declaration and the Iran-West Asia crisis to strong language on Gaza, the surprising omission of Ukraine, the condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack, and the high-profile Modi-Putin-Xi optics, India appeared to push BRICS toward diplomacy, strategic autonomy and a stronger Global South voice. The biggest question now is whether BRICS can remain united despite major differences between India, China, Russia, Iran and other members — especially as China prepares to take over the BRICS chair in 2027. #BRICS2026 #BRICSSummit2026 #BRICS #BRICSNewDelhi #IndiaBRICS #ModiBRICS #ModiPutinXi #ModiXi #ModiPutin #GlobalSouth #IndiaChina #India
