Thousands of French police officers and union members marched through Paris on Tuesday, blocking parts of the Champs-Élysées and demanding better pay, staffing and equipment. Protesters accused the government of failing to deliver commitments made under a 2022 agreement and a €15 billion investment pledge announced by President Emmanuel Macron during his 2022 re-election campaign. Police unions said officers face shortages in facilities, vehicles and technology, while also demanding higher hazard pay. MEP and former police officer Matthieu Valet accused the government of failing to implement the promised funding, saying, “The police are being treated like fools.” #france #paris #frenchpolice #policeprotest #macron #emmanuelmacron #franceprotests #parisprotest #police #policeunion #frenchgovernment #policefunding #policepay #europe #europeanpolitics #champselysees #politics #protest #timesnowworld Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: 🌐 Read full
