What can rural communities teach us about strength, leadership, and care? Drawing on his experiences living across Western Canada, David Chang explores the lessons embedded within rural communities and the important perspectives they offer in an increasingly changing world. His talk invites us to reconsider the value of community, connection, and the places that shape us. David Chang is a second-year medical student at the University of British Columbia. He grew up across Western Canada, spending time in Alberta, the Interior, Vancouver Island, and now the Lower Mainland. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Victoria and has interests in rural medicine, health advocacy, and substance use treatment. Outside of medicine, David enjoys volleyball, rock climbing, and playing the drums. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
