What if losing a match could be just as valuable as winning one? For many young athletes, sports can feel like they are all about the scoreboard, medals, trophies, and being the best. But sport teaches us something much bigger than how to win. It teaches us how to grow. In this talk, 12-year-old Sasath explores the idea that winning is not the only measure of success. Every training session, every mistake, every defeat, and every challenge is an opportunity to become stronger, more disciplined, and more confident. Through the world of sports, Sasath shares how losing can teach resilience, competition can teach respect, practice can build discipline, and setbacks can help us discover what we are capable of achieving. The final score tells us who won the game—but it does not tell the whole story. The real victory is in becoming a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. V. P. Sasath Pasandul Vitharana is a 12-year-old student of Trinity College, Kandy, with a passion for sport
