The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released footage on Tuesday that it said shows a damaged oil tanker at sea after it struck a naval mine south of the Strait of Hormuz. The footage shows plumes of smoke rising from the tanker, although the location and timing of the footage could not be independently verified. In a statement, the IRGC said that "The giant oil tanker Algaya exploded south of the Strait of Hormuz after striking naval mines," adding that the tanker "had intended to cross a prohibited area." --- Iran IRGC Oil Tanker | Strait Of Hormuz Tanker Explosion | Algaya Oil Tanker | Naval Mine Explosion | Strait Of Hormuz Attack | IRGC Tanker Footage | Oil Tanker Damaged | Iran Naval Mines | Hormuz Shipping Crisis | Iran Gulf Tensions | Firstpost #iran #irgc #straitofhormuz #oiltanker #algaya #navalmines #tankerexplosion #hormuz #irannews #firstpost Firstpost is an Indian news and media website.
