Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague on Wednesday after being found guilty of four war crimes committed during the 1998-99 conflict with Serbian forces. The tribunal found Thaçi criminally responsible for illegal or arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture and murder, including the murder of 96 people and the detention of 385, while acquitting him on six crimes-against-humanity counts because the panel said the evidence did not establish the required widespread or systematic attack on civilians. Prosecutors had sought a 45-year sentence. #hashimthaci #thaci #kosovo #kosowar #warcrimes #hague #haguetribunal #kosovospecialistchambers #kosovoliberationarmy #kla #serbia #kosovoconflict #breakingnews #europe #europenews #internationaljustice #warcrimestrial #thehague #latestnews #geopolitics In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Stay connected with Times Now World for rea
