Russian President Vladimir Putin urged Russians to participate in the upcoming State Duma elections, framing the vote as a demonstration of national unity and support for Russian troops fighting in Ukraine. In a televised address on Wednesday, Putin said the election campaign was taking place against the backdrop of what Moscow calls its “special military operation” and said residents of Donbas and Novorossiya would vote for State Duma deputies for the first time since their claimed reunification with Russia. Russia's parliamentary election is scheduled for September 18-20 and is the first such vote since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Putin said the choice of voters would demonstrate that millions stood behind Russian fighters and that attempts to divide or intimidate the country would fail. #putin, #russia, #russianews, #russiaelection, #stateduma, #election2026, #putinspeech, #ukrainewar, #russiaukrainewar, #ukraine, #kremlin, #vladimirputin, #
