Russia has awarded the commander of the Baltic Fleet corvette Soobrazitelny after the warship fired two signal flares toward a Danish Air Force Fennec helicopter in international waters in the southwestern Baltic Sea on September 14. Russia says the helicopter approached the warship and failed to respond to international radio calls, prompting the commander to launch the flares to prevent what Moscow called a “provocation.” Denmark disputes that account, saying the helicopter was conducting routine surveillance and that one flare passed close to the aircraft. The incident triggered a diplomatic protest from Copenhagen and adds another flashpoint to growing Russia-NATO security tensions in the Baltic region. #russia #denmark #balticsea #nato #russiaukrainewar #geopolitics #russianwarship #danishhelicopter #military #militarynews #europe #natoalliance #baltic #andreibelousov #putin #breakingnews #worldnews #geopoliticaltensions Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global
