Dramatic bodycam footage released by the City of Minneapolis shows the moment two police officers were shot during a gunfight with Carlton Johnson inside an apartment building on September 2, 2026. The footage shows officers Yahye Ahmed and Joseph Michnowski coming under fire as they moved through a hallway while responding to a deadly shooting. Michnowski is seen running for cover after being wounded, while later footage captures Ahmed exchanging fire before he is also shot. Yellow smoke appears as officers retreat down the stairwell. The shooting began during an arranged custody handoff outside the building, where Johnson allegedly shot and wounded a woman before shooting two building employees and entering the apartment complex. Police say Johnson later killed two residents before officers fatally shot him. Court documents and residents had previously described threats and concerns involving Johnson, who was facing eviction. #minneapolis #minneapolispolice #police #bodycam #bodycam
