Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of war crimes linked to the 1998–99 Kosovo conflict. The verdict at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague triggered angry protests in Pristina, where hundreds of supporters took to the streets, with some protesters damaging the facade of an EULEX building and calling the ruling unjust. Thaci, a former top commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), had denied the charges. Three other former senior KLA figures were also convicted: Jakup Krasniqi received 25 years, Kadri Veseli 18 years and Rexhep Selimi 13 years. Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti criticized the verdict as an “unacceptable injustice” and said his government would support the appeals process. #hashimthaci #kosovo #protest #kosovowar #warcrimes #kosovoliberationarmy #kla #pristina #albinkurti #serbia #nato #kosovoconflict #thehague #europe Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
