UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney have held their first bilateral meeting, focusing on artificial intelligence risks, online safety and defence cooperation. The two leaders discussed the need for governments and technology companies to work together as AI capabilities rapidly advance. Their meeting also highlighted closer UK-Canada defence cooperation and joint initiatives, as both countries examine how to respond to emerging security challenges. The talks come as neither the UK nor Canada currently has a dedicated standalone law governing AI, raising questions about whether existing regulatory frameworks will be sufficient as the technology develops. #AndyBurnham #MarkCarney #UKCanada #UKCanadaRelations #AIrisks #ArtificialIntelligence #AIRisks #AIRegulation #AI安全 #OnlineSafety #DefenceCooperation #UKDefence #CanadaDefence #UKPolitics #CanadaPolitics #BritishPrimeMinister #CanadianPrimeMinister #AIThreats #TechRegulation #GlobalSecurity #UKNews
