For months, the Trump administration has ramped up economic pressure and military threats against Cuba. While President Donald Trump has threatened a U.S. takeover, Cuban officials say they're still willing to talk. Amna Nawaz sat down with Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Cuba's deputy foreign minister, on Wednesday's PBS News Hour. In this extended interview, they discussed Secretary of State Marco Rubio's influence on U.S. policy, the steps Cuba is taking to open up its economy, what Cubans think about their government, the release of political prisoners and where Cuba sees its allies.
