Creativity is one of the most powerful abilities we have as humans, yet it is sometimes overlooked. It has shaped so much of the world around us, constantly used by engineers to turn impossible ideas into reality. But in a changing world where endless stimulation, busy schedules and constant digital entertainment, are becoming our new normal, could our creativity be declining? This talk will explore the importance of creativity in engineering and what its decline could mean for our future. Violeta Monascal Uribe is a student in the Lower sixth studying Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Politics. She hopes to study engineering at university and is interested in how creative ideas and solution shape innovation through engineering. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
